Galileo HAS Phase 2
Galileo HAS Phase 2 Reference User Algorithm and User Terminal
The EUSPA – EU Agency for the Space Programme – has awarded SpaceOpal the contract for advancing the Galileo High Accuracy Service (HAS) Algorithm and User Terminal with the new HAUT2 project. We are involved in this project as a project partner.
The Galileo High Accuracy Service (HAS) provides free of charge access, through the Galileo signal (E6- B) and by terrestrial means (Internet), to the information required to estimate an accurate positioning solution using a Precise Point Positioning algorithm in real-time.
Implementation of the Galileo HAS is following a staggered approach based on the 3 phases (with Phase 0 being the first), Phase 1 being the Initial Service currently being delivered and the current and last of which (Phase 2) will cover the evolution of the service to reach the Full Operational Capability, including compliance to more demanding performance targets.
Building on the success of Phase 1, this project contributes to Phase 2 of the Galileo HAS, bringing even higher accuracy and faster convergence through development of newer algorithms and a user receiver.
The Galileo HAS Phase 2 improvements will deliver more precise corrections via the Galileo E6 signal and online, enhancing the accuracy and reliability of Galileo services worldwide.
As part of this project, we are responsible for the following tasks:
- Development of a user algorithm that applies the future Galileo HAS2 corrections.
- Design and development of a Galileo High Accuracy Service User Terminal implementing the user algorithm developed in the frame of this Contract.
