ANavS presented the results of its FLOOW project at the Technical Meeting of The Institute of Navigation in Long Beach

ANavS presented the results of its FLOOW project on precise positioning for both outdoor and indoor environments at the famous International Technical Meeting of the The Institute of Navigation (ION ITM) in Long Beach, CA, USA on January, 24th.

  • The aim of the Floow project was to develop new solutions for the mobility of people and goods with a focus on factory transport.
  • For autonomous operations in factory premises, the indoor-outdoor transition area has a high relevance for autonomous operations in factory premises, but it is also a quite challenging area for precise positioning due to strong multipath and under-/overexposure of the camera.
  • The ANavS solution – as part of the project – is based on a very powerful sensor fusion of GNSS RTK positioning, inertial sensor and wheel odometry measurements, and also integrates a camera SLAM and a Lidar SLAM. The recent results show an accurate, seemless and jump-free positioning also at the indoor-outdoor transition area.
