mosaicG5 - HAT
High-Precision GNSS for Raspberry Pi
Open-Source Hardware for Easy Integration, RTK Positioning & Rapid Prototyping
High-Precision GNSS Development Made Simple
Developing a precise GNSS positioning system often requires complex hardware integration, custom circuit design and extensive testing.
The mosaicG5-HAT simplifies this process by bringing Septentrio’s advanced mosaicG5 GNSS technology directly to the Raspberry Pi platform.
Designed for developers, researchers and system integrators, this open-source GNSS board provides a flexible foundation for building and testing high-precision navigation applications.
With multi-constellation, multi-frequency GNSS support and RTK positioning capabilities, the mosaicG5-HAT enables accurate positioning for robotics, autonomous systems, surveying and embedded development.
Its open-source hardware design allows you to access schematics, PCB layouts and component information – giving you the flexibility to adapt the board to your individual project requirements.
Key Benefits
High-Precision RTK Positioning: Achieve centimeter-level positioning with multi-band, multi-constellation GNSS technology and suitable RTK corrections.
Easy Raspberry Pi Integration: Connect the GNSS board directly to a Raspberry Pi using its 40-pin GPIO header – simplifying hardware prototyping and development.
Open-Source Hardware Design: Access editable KiCad design files, schematics and a Bill of Materials to customize the hardware for your application.
Flexible Standalone Operation: Use the board with a Raspberry Pi or operate it independently using USB or external power input pins.
Multi-Constellation GNSS: Benefit from GPS, Galileo, GLONASS and BeiDou support for precise satellite-based positioning.
Designed for Custom Development: Build, modify and manufacture your own GNSS hardware based on the open-source reference design, subject to its license conditions.
Technology
Advanced GNSS Technology for Flexible Development
The mosaicG5-HAT is based on Septentrio’s mosaic-G5 GNSS receiver family, combining advanced satellite tracking technology with a compact development platform.
By supporting multiple GNSS constellations and frequencies, the receiver provides the foundation for precise positioning in demanding applications.
RTK technology enables centimeter-level positioning when suitable correction data and operating conditions are available.
Depending on the selected mosaicG5 receiver variant, additional capabilities such as dual-antenna heading can support more advanced navigation requirements.
The open-source hardware architecture gives developers access to the board design, enabling modifications, hardware evaluation and integration into custom positioning systems.
