Next-generation navigation solutions – ANavS at ION GNSS+ 2025

Three presentations, one clear message: ANavS is actively shaping navigation technologies.

At this year’s ION GNSS+ conference in Baltimore, we presented three papers demonstrating how modern navigation works in real-world conditions – robust, precise and in real time.

🔹 LiDAR SLAM on edge devices
A resource-efficient SLAM system for real-time applications on embedded hardware that enables reliable localisation even in dynamic, GNSS-free environments – thanks to intelligent object recognition, redundancy reduction and a flexible optimisation backend: Paper

🔹 AI-supported GNSS interference detection

A neural network detects jamming, spoofing and meaconing at the frequency and constellation level – based on real test data from the Jammer Test 2024. Combined with IMU and odometer data, navigation remains stable even in the event of targeted interference: Paper

🔹 AI-assisted multi-sensor fusion for autonomous vehicles

An innovative fusion system combines GNSS/INS with LiDAR and camera SLAM in a scalable architecture. Multiple AI modules improve interference detection, sensor calibration and environmental perception – optimised for real-time operation in vehicles: Paper

The developments were created as part of the EUSPA – EU Agency for the Space Programme -funded DREAM project, which focuses on real-world environments, open data and sustainable mobility.
